Allyson Barys makes semi-finalist list For Wooden Citizenship Cup Award

Georgia College Soccer senior Allyson Barys (Ladea Ranch, CA) has been named a semi-finalist for the renowned Coach Wooden Citizens Cup Award, one of three student-athletes chosen from Division II ranks.

Barys was one of 22 semi-finalists selected across all three levels of the NCAA for the Coach Wooden Citizen Cup Award, presented by Athletes for a Better World. The Coach Wooden Citizen Cup was named after John Wooden, who was arguably one of the greatest coaches and role models in the history of the NCAA.

The award is presented annually to professional and student-athletes who display the best character, teamwork, and citizenship on and off the playing field. The Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup Award endows the recipients as athletes of excellence and as role models as performers and persons. This award is one of the most important and distinctive honors an athlete can receive.
