Georgia College's second Boren Scholar: Economics major, David Williams will study Swahili in Tanzania

The Bobcat Awards and Recognition Program is the annual awards and recognition ceremony for student leaders and student organizations across the campus.

Three senior teacher candidates joined educators and students from across Georgia at the state Capitol Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Kayla Brockway has shown incredible leadership all throughout her GC Volleyball career. The 2018 season has been a different challenge for her, due to having to play through and adapt to an injury.

Two students have helped start a "Campus Kitchen" in order to cut down on the hunger problem around GC and Milledgeville.

Tavaris Johnson is being recognized for his work recording Milledgeville's history. He is helping the thousands of students that live in this city for school every year learn more and more about the people they live around.

Several students have joined forces with GC professors to create the state's first BBQ History website.

One student has used his time at GC wisely, using his platform to become a campus advocate for the underrepresented.

Georgia College is proud to recognize the new and returning members of the Call Me MISTER program this Fall.

Every year, students from GC participate in a program called GC in Washington (GC in DC). This internship is a great way for students to learn and apply professional skills in a great setting.

Outstanding students from Psychological Science were recognized at the 12th Annual Psychology Recognition Reception (PSYC CON). The Alumni Speaker was Candra Michelle Garrett, GC Class of 2012. She currently is Senior UX Designer at Launch in Atlanta. Outstanding first years, sophomores, juniors and seniors were recognized. The W. F. McDaniel Outstanding Research Award was also presented as was the inaugural Inclusive Excellence Award for the research project titled: Intersectional Analysis of Perceived Workplace Discrimination and Job Satisfaction Among Individuals with Marginalized Identities.

The Department of English recognized outstanding majors at a reception on April 25.

Georgia College student Richard Bowles was awarded the 2018 Ken Bernhardt American Marketing Association Atlanta Outstanding Collegiate Marketer Award. The Ken Bernhardt AMA Atlanta Outstanding Collegiate Marketer Award is designed to highlight key individuals driven to make a difference in the marketing industry. To be considered for the award, students must submit an application along with a recommendation letter from a marketing professor. This award includes an invitation to the Atlanta Marketer of the Year (AMY) Awards Gala, where the winners will receive their awards and have the opportunity to network with marketing professionals.

Congratulations to the Eta Xi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on their wonderful achievements this past weekend. They attended the Joint State Conference of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on March 9-11, 2018.

Junior Julia Steele has been named a 2018 Newman Civic Fellow. Steele, an environmental science major and public health minor, was selected by campus administration for the fellowship, and is one of the 268 students who will make up the organization's 2018 cohort.

Twenty-one students from Georgia College and State University showcased their research at the Southeast's Preeminent Regional Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors Conference.

In April 2017, the English and Rhetoric department held an ice cream social where GC students received outstanding major awards in the department.

Georgia College will recognize its students for the hundreds of volunteer hours they have dedicated this year to helping the community.

Student's works have been published in "The Peacocks Feet," Georgia College's undergraduate journal for literary and artistic talents.

At the Association for Information Systems Student Chapter Leadership Conference held at the Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, students in the Georgia College AIS student chapter competed in the AmerisourceBergen Analytics competition.

Two more outdoor education students earned credentials as climbing instructers in March 2017.

Senior music therapy students received awards at the Southeastern Region: American Music Therapy Association Annual Conference in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Southeastern Region includes nine states and 18 university music therapy programs.
